About Hua Hin

Hua Hin is located at the west coast of the Gulf of Thailand, has approximately 85.000 inhabitants and is the first beach resort city of Thailand. Hua Hin is very popular among the Thai people. In 1922, King Rama IV built the Klai Kangwon Palace (in Thai: away from worries) at the beach. King Bhumibol and other members of the Thai royal family regularly stayed in the palace.

Beach

Hua Hin has a miles long beach in a tropical scenery. The beach slopes gradually into the sea: ideal for children to play and bathe. On the beach, you can really relax and lounge. Many dining places provide excellent local food and ensure that your every need gets fulfilled.You can also enjoy relaxing Thai massages, right on your beach chair or towel! The sea is always warm and usually there is a cool breeze. Other activities that could make your day at the beach more fun are: renting jet skis, riding on very well-groomed horses and kitesurfing.

Culinary Hua Hin

Hua Hin has a very large number of restaurants of all nationalities. There is a vibrant fishing port, which ensures that the fish is delivered fresh daily. The piers on the beach, where you can eat in a cozy outside-atmosphere, are famous for their delicious fresh sea food. The restaurants range from affordable and authentic to very luxurious. In the evening, this sparkling part of the city comes to life and you will find an abundance of food stalls where even fresh lobster is not missing.

Climate

The climate is particularly favorable in Hua Hin. The reason for this is that, compared to other parts of Thailand, the rainfall in the rainy season is not that much in Hua Hin. It has a tropical climate with three seasons: a cool (still around 30°C) /dry season from November until February, a hot/dry season from March until May and a rainy season from June until October.

Nightlife

Hua Hin’s nightlife offers something for anyone. There are nightclubs and bars of the major Hotels and cozy bars in the city center. For the Thai boxing fan, there are matches almost every day. You can even take lessons! Hua Hin has a lively character which is reflected in the many events and celebrations. For the youth, it is a very appropriate place to have a few drinks and dance/party. For a perfect finish of the night you could show your singing talent and go to one of many karaoke bars.

Shopping

Besides all the small local shops in Hua Hin, there is also a very modern shopping mall called “Market Village”. Here you could buy anything you desire. In the city center, countless tailors are at your service to create a fully tailored suit in just a few days. 

Wellness

Hua Hin offers some very fancy spas. One of these is the prestigious resorts is ‘Chiva Som’ hotel, which won the price of best spa in the world, according to Nouveau magazine. Besides the fancy spas you could also choose for a local saloon which also offer a wide range of treatments at professional level.

Culture

Last but not least, Hua Hin offers beautiful Thai culture, such as the temple complex ‘Wat Khao lad’, situated on a hill at the beach. Here you encounter wild monkeys and you can admire the 20-meter-high golden Buddha statue. Spread across the city you will find even more beautiful temple complexes.
